This week's Monday invites us to the ZAPFIC50 challenge by @felt-buzz, which is a flash fiction story told in exactly 50 words. The prompt this week is "recommend". When I think of this word, immediately what comes to mind is a person or idea that is favorable to someone who doesn't hesitate to put the person or idea forward. The person or idea is viewed in a favorite light, therefore the recommendation will be supported.
The thing to remember is that not everyone will be pleased with the recommendation. That is to be expected as each person has the freedom to choice and his or her voice heard. I present a scenario along those lines.
My story is below:
"As with your sister, I recommend staying close to home." Albert's dad held his breath.
"But all my friends are experiencing independence by moving away for college," he quipped, then yelled, "mom, I need backup; someone who understands me."
"I understand you both. However, household finances have the final say."

El lunes de esta semana nos invita al desafío ZAPFIC50 de @felt-buzz. Este desafío consiste en escribir una historia de ficción breve con exactamente 50 palabras. El tema de esta semana es «recomendar». Cuando pienso en esta palabra, lo primero que me viene a la mente es una persona o idea que es favorable para alguien y que no duda en proponerla.
La persona o idea se ve con buenos ojos, por lo que la recomendación será apoyada. Lo que hay que recordar es que no todo el mundo estará satisfecho con la recomendación. Es de esperar, ya que cada persona tiene libertad para elegir y hacer oír su voz. Presento un escenario en esa línea.

It's absolutely true that each of us has freedom of opinion. Sometimes recommendations work out well, and sometimes they don't. So it's also important to consider many things.
You are correct in that consideration must be given on all sides before a decision is made. A family's finances is utmost in many decisions that must be considered. This is especially true when parents have more than one child to assist with their educational requirements. It's a tough choice to make knowing that the child's expectations may not be met.

Reality of life. Freedom and finances are intertwined. It's disappointing when dreams meet reality, but the family support makes a huge difference in moments like this
