Worry. It's a state of mind humans deal with at some point during their lifetime. Numerous situations arise for various reasons that affect individuals in different ways. Some may see a situation minute and nothing to be concerned about. Others may panic and deal with the dilemma in another manner. It's natural to have concerns about an issue that may be current and have a severe impact or hardship on your life. You need to address it to solve an ongoing or potential problem.
However, when one worries about issues that may not have any basis, a different set of circumstances may be at play that affect one's mental capacity. I share a flash fiction story for the ZAPFIC50 Friday challenge. This challenge by @felt-buzz presented the opportunity to explore this week's prompt "worry".
My story is below:
Melvin's wife stood surveying the sparse pantry. But her thoughts lay elsewhere.
He'd no idea she overheard him applying for government aid.
Holiday pay loss.
He wrapped his arms around her.
"Don't worry, we'll get through this," he assured.
"The children's wish lists are growing"
His only wish: New Job!

Surgen numerosas situaciones por diversas razones que afectan a las personas de diferentes maneras. Algunos pueden considerar que una situación es insignificante y que no hay nada de qué preocuparse. Otros pueden entrar en pánico y afrontar el dilema de otra manera. Es natural preocuparse por un asunto que puede ser actual y tener un impacto grave o causar dificultades en tu vida. Es necesario abordarlo para resolver un problema actual o potencial.
Sin embargo, cuando uno se preocupa por cuestiones que pueden no tener fundamento, es posible que haya otras circunstancias que afecten a su capacidad mental. Comparto un relato breve para el reto ZAPFIC50 Friday. Este reto de @felt-buzz me ha brindado la oportunidad de explorar el tema de esta semana: «preocupación».
A continuación mi historia.
Acontecimiento imprevisto que empaña el ánimo.
La esposa de Melvin se quedó mirando la despensa casi vacía. Pero sus pensamientos estaban en otra parte.
Él no tenía ni idea de que ella le había oído solicitar ayuda del gobierno.
Pérdida de la paga extra.
La abrazó.
«No te preocupes, lo superaremos», le aseguró.
«Las listas de deseos de los niños no paran de crecer»
Su único deseo: ¡un nuevo trabajo!
