For this week's ZAPFIC50 Friday challenge, the prompt "thrust" took me in the direction of a combative event. The word itself depicts power action in an unpleasant situation. The challenge was created by @felt.buzz and consists of creating a flash fiction story in exactly fifty (50) words.
My story is below:
The thrust was somewhat awkward. It was expected being his first time.
But it landed in the spot that scored enough points to win a beginner trophy.
His opponent approached professionally. "Your technique doesn't represent an Unrated".
Recalling his coach's advice, Myles suppressed a smile.
He'd found his true calling.
