Recuerdo cuando era viejo.
Hoy me he puesto a recordar
los tiempos de mi vejez
que me hacen pensar después
en que todo lo vivido
es algo que ya se ha ido,
y no voverá otra vez.
En la memoria conservo
capítulos de la vida
y en mí la quietud se anida
con muy firme consistencia
pues recuerdos en latencia
son de apariencia florida.
Me puse viejo, ¡caramba!
¿quién iba a pensar tal vez
que con esta palidez
y con dientes incompletos
no iba a aguantar duros retos
al recibir la vejez?
Lo siento, pero es lo lógico
quedarse así tan perplejo
sin fruncir el entrecejo,
pero le digo a la gente
que está muy fresca mi mente
¡¡¡al ser un reciente viejo!
Y sin un inconveniente
¡recuerdo cuando era viejo!
