10 Bugs and the Egg of a Dragon (Story)

in Freewriters5 years ago

"Let's see if you can eat 10 bugs," said one of the presenters.

"This is not TV," I said to myself. "Get me out of here."

The only thing it does, is remind me of the time when I passed a giant egg on the way home.

It was large, but I didn't know what it was.

So I said to myself;

"It's from a dragon. If I interfere, a whole family of dragons are going to come after me. They will not rest, until I'm toast."

I told a friend. He asked me;

"How do you know it was a dragon's egg?"

To which I replied;

"It was large. It had to be a dragon or a dinosaur. We all know that dinosaurs are extinct. That's unless somebody is stupid enough to make a Jurassic Park. Therefore, I say it was from a dragon."

My friend was trying to tell me that dragons never existed. So it was more likely to be a dinosaur. I had to reply;

"It is from a dragon. That's what I feel and it is what I believe. Unless anybody can prove otherwise, this is a dragon tale."

I just need a wizard to appear and confirm what I know. It would also be nice if he, or she, can confirm that I did the right thing, i.e. not interfere.

"Wizards don't tend to be that straightforward."

So perhaps that ends the matter for the meantime. Just a theory and a hunch.

I haven't switched off this awful TV programme yet. Apparently, this one is being broadcast live.

"What is this coming from the sky?" asked one of the presenters.

"It can't be, it looks like there's a load of dragons descending on us. Run."

One of the contestants, I have no idea what she is famous for, turned her head to the camera. Her eyes were looking straight at mine.

"You were wise to leave those dragon eggs."

Dragon Egg

Good job combining prompts. You could always add the bugs to a giant omelette.

I could do, but then there'll be a big clan of big bugs on the chase (I'm binge watching Star Wars Clone Wars and Rebels right now).

Thank you for reading

I think they were dragon eggs for sure!!!

Saved by an undercover wizard? Hehe

hahaha - you got that right!
😂
