back in time

This is my post for #freewriters Friday prompt bow and arrow hosted by @mariannewest

Many times I have wished that I would have lived back in the day of the bow and arrow. Back when there was no need for money, no taxes to pay no light bill, and no need for insurance. You wanted to live somewhere you built your home there. The only worry would be putting food on the table. I think back then, people were very happy not having to deal with all that we today deal with.

We have a lot of comforts that people did not have back then. I would be more than happy to give up most of them.

Then I come to my senses and realize there would be no ice for my ice tea. Would I really give up ice? I will need to think more about this.

The Ais Indians lived in my area, they lived in huts made from palmetto frowns. Every time we get cold weather I thank God I am not an Ais Indian. I do not know how they kept warm with no blankets and they slept on the ground. Now I am thinking would I give up warmth?

I could make it through the cold days, we do not have that many but to give up ice, um, still thinking.

After giving more thought, yes, I would give up ice. It would be hard at first but after that, it would not be that bad. It would be worth it to live free.

Sort:

Many modern people are returning to living off the grid because of these very things... or even moving to countries where life is still simpler for the same reasons ... we have blessings and burdens in modern life, and both are very real...

I really think life would be better if we did not have the vices that we think we need.

Modern conveniences are wonderful. Most of the hassles that come with them aren't really necessary, though. The more prosperous a society, the more opportunities for the unscrupulous to plunder, and more more ways they have to make their plunder look "legitimate."

So very true.
