I die of pain, of sadness

I die of pain, of sadness,
in a corner where the echo sings,
the shadow of a love that frightens,
sighs of a life in despair.
I die because love is gone,
like a whisper in the breeze,
leaving an emptiness, a wound,
a heart that feels oblivion.
I die because the moon, now absent,
does not bathe my walk with its lights,
my wandering steps don't know how to dream,
the night is covered with a latent veil.
I die amidst dreams of lost verses,
in a sea of shadows and longing,
each word is a scale
that weighs the burden of what I've lived.
