Not everyone gets to become their own movie director, many become adults depending on the opinions of others and are supporting actors in someone else's movie, be it wives, bosses or friends.
As the director of the movie of my life, the two characteristic words that characterize this profession are the most difficult in life: Action and Cut. Making the clapperboard sound at the right time is the hardest thing to do. Taking action, initiating new projects, deciding on various aspects of daily life is not easy and simple. In life, successes and mistakes are paid for dearly and for a long time. On the other hand, not to mention the word “cut”, leaving aside toxic relationships, inadequate jobs, cutting the root of the family relationship or cutting the roots with a country to go to another are the most crucial events that any adult can be presented in the contemporary stage we live in Latin America.
As the director of my film, another of the great vicissitudes that I have had to face is that after having obtained great successes, it has been difficult for me to return to an action that brings back the glory and the longing for films of the past. Now where there was optimism and desire to take risks, to challenge the unknown; now there is uncertainty, fear of failure and the knowledge that the inclement weather does not allow opportunities for second parts. For an aging film director it is either success or failure.

En la película de mi vida he sido y ejercido muchos roles durante los 58 años que ha durado el rodaje. He pasado de espectador a actor secundario y actor principal y algunas veces hasta he sido el villano en la película de otros. Con el transcurrir de los años fui evolucionando hasta convertirme en el director de la película de mi vida.
No todos las personas logran convertirse en su propio director de la película, muchos llegan a adultos dependiendo de las opiniones de los demás y son actores secundarios en la película de otros llamase esposas, jefes o amigos.
Como director de la película de mi vida, las dos palabras características que caracterizan esta profesión son las más difíciles en la vida: Acción y Corte. El hacer sonar la claqueta en el momento indicada es lo más difícil de realizar. El tomar acción, iniciar nuevos proyectos, decidir sobre diversos aspectos de la vida cotidiana no es nada fácil y sencillo. En la vida los aciertos y los errores se pagan caros y durante mucho tiempo. Por otra parte, ni hablar de la palabra “Corte” dejar a un lado relaciones tóxicas, trabajos inadecuados, cortar de raíz la relación familiar o cortar el arraigo con un país para irse a otro son de los eventos más cruciales que cualquier adulto se le pueda presentar en la etapa contemporánea que vivimos en Latinoamérica.
Como director de mi película otra de las grandes vicisitudes que se me ha presentado es que luego de haber obtenido grandes éxitos me ha costado volver a enrumbarme hacia una acción que devuelva la gloria y la añoranza de películas del pasado. Ahora donde había optimismo y deseos, correr riesgos, de retar a lo desconocido; ahora opera la incertidumbre, el miedo al fracaso y el saber que el inclemente tiempo no permite oportunidades para segundas partes. Para un director de películas de avanzada edad o es un éxito o es un fracaso.
