Delayed but Not Denied

He got a cute picture of his newborn child abroad, and he became keen on relocating. However, his documents had expired some months earlier. He decided to contact the immigration office. Then COVID-19 set in, which disrupted his plans.

Sorry, freewriters and everyone. I think this will be too small for a blog post. Below is a longer version..

Mr. Kunle’s wife visited him nine months before the inception of the new year. However, he was busy here in Nigeria, so his wife gave birth in the United States. A picture of the newborn was sent to him, and he became very keen on travelling abroad, though he loved Nigeria and all its vibes.

However, COVID-19 set in, and he was unable to meet his newborn child on time. Though it was not too serious. A good friend advised him to process his documents in neighbouring states such as Ogun State or Ibadan. He did as he was told.

Mr. Kunle does not like paying bribes and all, but he was told to pay a certain amount of money to hasten the passport processing time. He did as he was advised. The agent called him a day prior to the date of capturing. This visa was a ten-year visa.

Mr. Kunle went to Ogun very early in the morning. He arrived around 7:30 a.m. and was attended to immediately. He saw a long queue at the processing centre, which made him wonder. Additionally, this method reduced stress. Soon, he was able to process all his documents.

He witnessed some people fighting one another and even arguing with the officials. He said to himself, “Will I also go through all that?” He asked someone, “How long have you been here?” The person replied that he had been coming for one week and had to arrive early every time. He expressed his displesures.

When the official who helped him with the process came, Mr. Kunle was very happy and even tipped him. This is because he had helped him avoid all that stress. He witnessed firsthand what connection and power—money, in this case—can do.

Soon, he was done processing his 64-page, ten-year visa. Two weeks later, Mr. Kunle travelled to meet his wife. He flew with the beautiful Emirates Airline.

His experience was like home away from home.

At the end of it all, he met his newborn, whom he named Olamide, which means “my wealth has come.”

Thanks for visiting!
