Tomorrow it would start. The countdown had been going on for weeks, building anticipation among the small community of beachgoers. It was the annual sandcastle competition, a beloved tradition that brought together families, friends, and strangers alike.
Everyone had been preparing for weeks, gathering buckets and shovels, planning their designs, and collecting the perfect seashells for decoration. The excitement was palpable in the air as participants arrived early to secure their spot on the beach.
The competition began as the sun climbed over the horizon. Participants laboured assiduously to construct their sandcastles, and the air was filled with the sound of laughter and clashing shovels. Some were plain and beautiful, while others featured towers, moats, and bridges and were elaborate and intricate.
The sun continued to beat down brutally throughout the day, but nobody appeared to mind. They were all too preoccupied with perfecting their inventions in order to take home the coveted first-place trophy.
As the sun began to set, the judges made their rounds, inspecting each sandcastle and deliberating over the winners. Finally, they announced the winners, and cheers erupted from the crowd.
Tomorrow it would start all over again, but for today, the beach was filled with nothing but smiles and the sweet scent of salty air.

Mañana empezaría. La cuenta atrás llevaba semanas en marcha, creando expectación entre la pequeña comunidad de bañistas. Era la competición anual de castillos de arena, una tradición muy querida que reunía a familias, amigos y desconocidos por igual.
Todos llevaban semanas preparándose, reuniendo cubos y palas, planificando sus diseños y recogiendo las conchas perfectas para la decoración. La emoción se palpaba en el aire mientras los participantes llegaban temprano para asegurarse un sitio en la playa.
La competición comenzó cuando el sol ascendía por el horizonte. Los participantes trabajaron asiduamente para construir sus castillos de arena, y el aire se llenó con el sonido de las risas y el choque de las palas. Algunos eran sencillos y bonitos, mientras que otros presentaban torres, fosos y puentes, y eran elaborados e intrincados.
El sol seguía pegando brutalmente durante todo el día, pero a nadie parecía importarle. Todos estaban demasiado preocupados por perfeccionar sus inventos para llevarse a casa el codiciado trofeo al primer puesto.
Cuando el sol empezó a ponerse, los jueces hicieron sus rondas, inspeccionando cada castillo de arena y deliberando sobre los ganadores. Finalmente, anunciaron a los ganadores y el público aplaudió a rabiar.
Mañana todo volvería a empezar, pero por hoy, en la playa sólo había sonrisas y el dulce aroma del aire salado.
