Beginning would be tomorrow. For the small hamlet of Dusty Springs, the yearly race across the desert was the highlight of the year. Everyone would assemble to watch the competitors race through the wide expanse of sand on their dirt motorcycles and dune buggies, creating a cloud of dust in the process.
For months, Johnny had been practising, perfecting his buggy, and researching the terrain. To show everyone that he was the finest, he was determined to win this year.
He was unable to sleep that night while he laid in bed. His thoughts were constantly on the race, and he could already hear the crowd's roars as he crossed the finish line first.
Finally, Johnny leapt out of bed as the first sunbeams appeared over the horizon, ready to start the day that would forever alter his life. He was more than prepared to take on the challenge tomorrow when it began.
El comienzo sería mañana. Para la pequeña aldea de Dusty Springs, la carrera anual por el desierto era el momento culminante del año. Todo el mundo se reunía para ver a los competidores correr a través de la amplia extensión de arena en sus motocicletas y buggies, levantando una nube de polvo en el proceso.
Johnny llevaba meses practicando, perfeccionando su buggy e investigando el terreno. Para demostrar a todo el mundo que era el mejor, estaba decidido a ganar este año.
Aquella noche no pudo dormir en la cama. Sus pensamientos estaban constantemente en la carrera, y ya podía oír los rugidos de la multitud cuando cruzó la línea de meta en primer lugar.
Finalmente, Johnny saltó de la cama cuando los primeros rayos de sol aparecieron en el horizonte, listo para empezar el día que cambiaría su vida para siempre. Estaba más que preparado para afrontar el reto de mañana cuando empezara.
