Hello everyone, here's my entry for today's five-minute prompt, November 20—amateur detective. As usual I did it in The Most Dangerous Writing App and since I don't have much side comments about it, I think they're not worth sharing for now. That's why without further ado, here it is:

A piercing scream echoed throughout the station.
All of the police were alerted and even the outsiders were intrigued with such happening.
The head detective laid lifeless as the amateur detective stood frozen beside him.
"It wasn't me...It wasn't me", he uttered repeatedly as if accusations were already thrown at him.
The police officers nearby already took him in their custody for questioning.
A lot were curious why the famous head detective suddenly dropped dead at the middle of the day.
What could be the reason for his untimely demise?
Was it grudge? Or was it accident?
No one knows, but perhaps his assistant do.
The young detective sat quietly, knowing already what questions will be thrown at him.
He already watched countless of questioning before, but he never expected he would be the one questioned someday.
It turns out that day already happened and it is when his mentor died mysteriously.
Even he was puzzled when he found out his mentor dropping dead.
He was the first one to arrived when he heard the call for help.
And unfortunately his concern became his downfall.
For now he's the main suspect for his mentors' death.
A death no one expected.
In the distance a man smiled grimly. Finally the corrupt head detective died, but what could be the cost?
He certainly don't want to be imprisoned, so he need a fall guy.
An unfortunate guy that would shoulder his crime.
'Not all good deeds are rewarded, some lead you to harm, and that poor amateur detective sure have it hard', he thought.
He utter a silence apology.
But when he realized what he had done, he laughed at its absurdity.
'Not that it matters anymore...'
