Past Cold

Hello Hive! Especially to the ZapFicers! It's been a while since I published something, and there are definitely a lot of things I wanna share here, but for now, let me start my June here with a ZapFicMonday entry. This one is probably inspired by the alternate end scene I've been imagining lately. I've been back to reading, and since I'm fond of bittersweet endings, I decided to imagine for the novel I just finished. It had happy end by the way, but I have a lot of alternate bittersweet (bitter for most part actually) ending of it in the back of my mind, so might as well type it and share one of the scenes that's been playing on my mind and of course, I added coffee since it's the prompt for this week.

So here it is, hope you enjoy this short fiction of mine.

No dagger stares. Nor a mouth of contempt.

"Goodbye", he whispered.

No words came out of her. No smiles either.

Just pure resignation to move on.

The bill's been paid but it remained untouched.

The coffee that had once been hot now felt cold.

Welcome back to publishing. I hope you get inspired to publish more.

Your story is quite relatable. It's just like life and living; nothing stays the same always.

Thank you! It's really sweet to read this, especially on my comeback here. I'm glad you find it relatable, and yeah...if it's not meant to be, it won't really stay, and with that, one must keep on moving.

It's good to have you back.. goodbyes are cold just like the coffee

Thanks :) Yes... it's also bitter and awakening at times.
