John was walking home from his shift in a local diner. On the way home a stranger bumped into him with coffee in his hand. John was furious at first, but the stranger was apologetic and offered a shirt he had in his hand. John was hesitant but the stranger insisted he wears the shirt. after some time john accepted the shirt, it was a nice black striped shirt. after walking for some time a jeep came and stopped near John and a bunch of officers jumped on John saying "There he is, Don't let him escape".

the officers threw him in the cell, John was protesting that they made a mistake, then the warden came and said "Do you think I am dumb?", " you wear a prison uniform and have six fingers on your left hand, you are the escaped prisoner, we'll make you suffer for breaking out!" he said and left the cell. apparently, it's been only 5 days since the prisoner was transferred here, so the warden didn't have enough time to remember his face. the only identity they had is his six fingers in left hand.
After thinking hard John realized it was the plan all along. the stranger who bumped into him this morning visited his diner a day before and he was with few people. they intentionally gave him a striped shirt to set him up, they saw his six fingers while he served them and planned to set him up. since john had six fingers the police might take some time before realizing they have the wrong guy. but when they realize the prisoner and his acquaintances were long gone.
after checking John's fingerprint, they released John. when john came out of the prison he smiled looking at the sky wondering how the prisoner look or where he is going now.
