El gato desteñido
Horas extrañas bajo la lluvia
el cabello se me ha desteñido,
ahora soy como un gato blanco
entre gatos negros en pleno octubre.
Y pensar que el último tinte se acabado,
tomaré mi disfraz de zapato errante
y lo tiraré a la basura.
No me queda mas que vestir de blanco
y pretender que soy una pata de conejo
en este día de disfrases viejos.
Caminaré en medio de la procesión,
iré entonando la estúpida canción
que resuena en los tejados.
Miau...
The faded cat
Strange hours in the rain
my hair has faded,
now i’m like a white cat
between black cats in the middle of October.
And to think that the last dye is finished,
I’ll take my wandering shoe costume
And I’ll throw it away
I have nothing left but to wear white
and pretend that I’m a rabbit’s foot
on this day of old costumes.
I will walk in the middle of the procession,
I’ll go singing the stupid song
that echoes off the rooftops.
