In the meantime, we have corrupt politicians, terrorists, rapists, child-abusers, and human right violators asking people to elect them. They blatantly show their colors and their affiliations and still people are electing them and keeping them in office.

Unfortunately, this is also true in America now. Is there even such a thing as an uncorrupt politician? I question it.

True. I guess they all are. By the time the have climbed over the major/governor/congressman level there's no healthy bone (as we say here).
They respond to the compromises they have acquired prior to being elected and they have to serve those interests. If on top of that they are rotten at the personal level (vices, mental illnesses or resentment), then the sky is the limit to the wrongs they can do.
