Wow it's been a long time since I posted on here. In fact I've been through two phones since I last logged in. I'm surprised this phone still knows my passkey!
Not that anyone cares but for about five years now I've been working on a book: The mindset Of Floating.
What's this book about?
Well as I've been a swimming teacher for about 15 years and a damn good one as well. (Not my words, just clients, parents and other teachers). Let's just say I get good feedback very often.
My approach to teaching isn't "by the book" which makes it quite unique and one thing I focus on when teaching is making someone feel as comfortable as possible in the water. Apparently having a lesson with me is like seeing a therapist (again not my words).
As a result I've cured many people's aquaphobia and turned them from being fearful of the water to enjoying g being in it and more importantly under it!
The book contains key knowledge that I think is essential for beginners, non swimmers and people who are afraid of the water to learn. It's not like your typical "how to swim" book. There's not a single picture inside. I don't focus on how to do the strokes, where your arm placement should be, timing etc. The question is why?
Because no matter how much you study techniques or how much you practice with floats if you have the wrong mindset and you don't understand how your body sits in the water you will never be comfortable, even if you can or think you can swim.
I feel like there are very few people that teach this and I just happen to be one of them.
If you know anyone that fears the water or you struggle to swim or if you fancy supporting me check out the link to Amazon:
The book is self published so it was me that did the formatting. So if the formatting isn't great, I do apologise :-)
I really resonate with your journey. As a fellow published author, I know what it takes to stay committed to a project for years, and the fact that you’ve brought The Mindset of Floating to life is something to be proud of. What you’ve done is more than write a book—you’ve captured years of lived experience, empathy, and transformation into words that will continue to help people long after a lesson ends. Keep pushing, your story and your gift matter.
Thank you, unfortunately it's not about content these days, it's about marketing. Even though I know whoever reads this will truly benefit, I'm not very good at marketing and there's no point throwing loads of money at it since I'm struggling with income and mortgage.
Life's not good for me right now.
