Vi tu alma lejana,
mantener la distancia al
susurrarle a la flama de una vela
y tan solo dijiste, no.
Fueron aquellos días,
días de sol,
días de lluvias
y tormentas,
y solo dijiste, no.
Aléjate de la distancia,
y regresa a mí,
aunque hayas olvidado
mi nombre.
Mantén la distancia
y regresa a susurrarle
a esa luz de vela
qué nunca menguó.
Trinos de flautines,
gritos de gaviotas y
capullos resplandecientes
a los pies de infinitas auroras;
son apenas recuerdos,
qué niegan ser olvidados,
bajo las penumbras de la distancia.
Así es el amor en la distancia,
no digo más.

I witnessed a distant soul,
upholding the distance while
whispering to the candlelight,
and merely saying, no.
Those were the days,
days of sun,
days of rain
and storms,
and you only said, no.
Step away from the distance,
and return to me,
even if you have forgotten
my name.
Keep the distance
and come back to whisper
to that unwavering candlelight
that never waned.
Trills of flutes,
seagulls' cries,
and resplendent blossoms
at the feet of endless dawns;
they are mere memories,
that refuse to be forgotten,
beneath the shadows of distance.
Such is love in separation,
I say no more.
