On 18 September 2015, David Gilmour's fourth studio album, "Rattle That Lock", was released.

The album was recorded at Gilmore Studios. The album's co-producer, Phil Manzanera, estimated that Gilmour had been writing material for "Rattle That Lock" for the past five years, although he also noted that a piano piece was recorded in Gilmour's living room 18 years ago.

Most of the songs on the album were recorded at Medina Studios in Hove, with other sessions aboard the Astoria.

Pink Floyd's last album, Endless River, was also recorded and produced jointly by the two studios. The orchestral works were recorded at AIR Studios in London and the free choir at a church in South London.

The album was mixed at Astoria and mastered in all formats by James Guthrie and Joel Plante at das boot studios in Lake Tahoe, California.

The lead single from the album was released and available for digital download on 17 July 2015. The music was inspired by a jingle that preceded an advertisement for the French railway company SNCF.

David recorded this video on his iPhone while visiting friends in Provence and used it as a sample. When he called the author, French composer Michael Boumendier, he didn't believe the story and mistook it for a joke.

The text was written by Gilmore's wife, Polly Samson, who was inspired by John Milton's second book, Paradise Lost.

The recording of the song was also performed by the Liberty Choir, where seven former prisoners from London's Wandsworth Prison sang alongside professional vocalists. Gilmore's adopted son Charlie, Polly's son, spent four months in this prison in 2011.

David said: "Charlie's experience has affected us and made us learn more about the British prison system. It also made me wonder if there is anything we can personally do to improve the condition of prisoners and their rehabilitation. We have become part of a useful initiative and hope that our example will inspire others. "The spouses set up a prisoner relief fund and composed this song.
