"Well, color me surprised," Bill muttered sarcastically as he reviews the specifications of a new cellphone model introduced by a well-known tech company.
"The specs are nearly identical to the one they just released last year," Bill shook his head.
Bill did not find it surprising that a tech corporation known for its greed would introduce a "new" cellphone with last year's specs while charging a premium for it.
"And yet, people would still buy this crap," Bill grumbled. "I'm still baffled by the brand's allure."
Bill was in the market for a new cellphone and made the mistake of approaching a friend who was a die-hard admirer of the aforementioned famous brand.
"I should look for something else," Bill suggested. "I'm not paying a thousand dollars for a cellphone that still uses an older chip."
Bill eventually located and purchased the cellphone he desired after a lengthy search.
"My friend would probably be pissed that I didn't buy that phone," Bill thought to himself as he imagined his friend's reaction. "Oh well, it's not like he's the one doing the buying."
And, as expected, Bill's pal was irritated when he discovered that he had ignored his advice. But when Bill pointed out that the phone he recommended had the same specs as last year, he remained silent, not surprising Bill in the slightest. He may be upset that Bill pointed out a big weakness in his favorite brand of cellphone, but there's nothing he can do about it.
"You should really re-think your loyalty to that brand," said Bill before leaving.
And with that, Bill not only obtained a new phone with the most up-to-date specs, but he might also made his friend reconsider his loyalty to that particular brand.
The end...
