The thirst

Mother's teachings were to never fall to their knees in sorrow.
Have the patience of the earth
Stay steadfast like a tree
Endure the cold and heat of the seasons
Laugh like a Gulmohar
Even in the gloomy days of autumn,
The green scent appears like a verdant color

Drink sorrow, End the pain, Stay happy
Mother's teachings were to Lead spring in the garden of life
Do it every moment, Helding it has many meanings
Let beehives be built on your branches
Nests of the sparrows
Let the vines spread to the tips
Yes! Never give shelter to a poisonous snake in the hollow of a tree

Mother's teaching was In the well of your mind
Like silent water, Stay still
Lift up sand in time
Every stone placed at the mouth of the river
But never bend like a swing hanging upside down on the dry well

Mother, I followed every word you said to the letter
Never fell on my knees in grief
Never bent like a swing hanging upside down in a dry well
I immersed the ocean in the well
And filled the empty pitchers lying on the earth
But my inner vessel
In it lies the insatiable thirst
The ocean is lamenting, mother
What should I do with that ocean?
Tell me, where should I contain it?

Thank you so much for reading. Have a great day 😊🙏 @vikbuddy

This is truly beautiful. The mother, giving valuable lessons, a structure to live by - but then when the speaker has lived experience, there are things he must fathom himself, understand and negotiate on his own terms. It's a truly moving poem.
