Todays prompt reminds me of a friend and next of the heartbeat of an unborn child.
There was a time the heartbeat of an unborn child wasn't heard and a time the midwife or doctor was the first and only one who could hear it. Did it harm these new mothers or did they long for hearing it or not seeing their child on ultrasound? No, it did not. What isn't known doesn't harm.
All the technology we count on... without it we truly believe we cannot survive which is sad. We gave up on our instinct and no longer feel. Not feel our innerself, not feel those who should be most close and important to us and if we feel we ignore it.
Feelings, we are taught they do not count. Facts count, the phrases spoken by a few who attracted attention do and it does count what old screwed up men ages ago preached which is weird since we do not respect the elderly, we do not care about them for real and we all know better.
If it comes to health, psychology and ideas we dwell in the dark ages and have a hard time to change our opinion. What the old Freud said is the truth. No matter how developed and more educated we all are today, no one arose saying it's all a fairy tale what people once thought. How come so much money is wasted by scientists but no energy is invested in literure, changing the studybooks and the people's mind and we stick to the old preachers' opinion?
The old habits, if it comes to pregnancy and giving birth, are suddenly wrong. If you are pregnant you are always wrong. You are not a client but labelled as sick. If your instinct tells you there's something wrong inside your womb you are wrong even if it turns out you were right. Machines, tests, doctors, hospitals do not make mistakes. If you dare to say it you won't make any friends and better be aware healthcare can be taken away from you. You are not a customer or a friend although you pay the bill.
