I would not say that the close of the story is an unhelpful thought in any way. Quite the opposite actually. Since most people was happy, and they spread the happiness to others, the store was no longer needed, and that is why the store closed.
I say "most of the people", because you cannot make literally everyone happy. There are always be unhappy people, no matter what we say, what we do. They choose to be unhappy, and they are "happy" (or at least trying to look happy), when something bad happens.
By the way, thank you for mentioning your community. I will take a look at it, and maybe post some of my future works there.
