Hi everyone! Since it is almost Halloween, I thought of participating in the #Hivebuzz Trick or Treat #Halloween challenge. I do have a bag of scary stories but today I will share a spooky stories. Guess what the bonus is, it is a true story which actually happened in real life.
Let me start with a little background. This is an incident that happened to my brother. It was during the time he was studying in college. It was located far from home in another state, which is why he stayed in the hostel accommodation offered by the college itself. It was a semi-government higher educational institute. Usually such hostels are in the form of apartments but the one my brother got was terrace house. Sounds great doesn't it?
So he and his college mates were overjoyed as they could live in bigger accommodation. The house was large and spacious but there was a graveyard in the area. I guess it didn't bother them much as the space made up for that. At least in the beginning. Moreover, it was also located in a residential area. This means that some of the houses were actually bought by regular people who stayed there with their families.
Only certain rows were bought by the educational institute as accommodations for the students. This was done due to lack of space in the initial apartment built for the students. It was quite new at the time and in the meantime of waiting for more of the apartments to be ready, they had to get a temporary place to stay for the current students.
Everything seemed fine. However my brother and his friends started noticing strange things happening. They would hear strange noises and sometimes notice long hair in the house. What was odd is that none of them had long hair as they were all boys and they had to follow strict dress code which includes some rules for grooming and keeping the hair short.
One day, my brother woke up in the middle of the night and noticed a part of legs swinging on the floor. You know how sometimes we swing our legs while we read books on bed or on the floor? It was like that. Every room is shared by two students. My brother was sleeping on his bed and he saw a pair of legs swinging from front to back, one at a time. Since he was on top of his bed, he could only see the legs and couldn't see much as it seemed as if someone was laying on the floor.
He thought he might be dreaming or not fully awake. So, he blinked his eyes a few times to see properly. Upon doing that, he noticed the legs also had black anklets on them. He turned to take a look at his roommate's bed to check if he was there, in case he was the one laying on the floor and swinging his legs. Turns out, he was sound asleep on his bed. My brother was shocked, and he didn't dare turn back to the side of the swinging legs. He just closed his eyes and covered his entire self in his blanket and tried to wait until dawn.
Let me slip in another incident that happened to his housemate. It is quite short. One day when they were all sleeping, suddenly he felt like something heavy was pressing him. It was so heavy to the point he couldn't breathe. He tried to make a sound but he couldn't as he felt as if another human's weight was placed on him. He managed to let out a scream and his roommate along with other housemates checked on him. When they turned the lights on, they noticed many long hair on top of him. Sure, it could have been a prank but how can we explain the heavy weight which didn't have a body and can't be pushed away?
So this is my entry for the Halloween Challenge and hopefully you find my story interesting and at least a tad bit creepy. There were other incidents that my brother described but this particular incident with the swinging legs got stuck in my memory as it freaked me out the most. What will you do if you experience the same thing? Will you leave the place or try to live with the uninvited inhabitants? Saying trick or treat won't work with them. I personally suggest you to move out if it is rented. Otherwise, it may be quite challenging to live in peace if such incidents happen often.
