29 February 2024, @mariannewest's Freewrite Writing Prompt Day 2297: the amber light

in Freewriters3 months ago

It rained heavily that night and Detective Justin was alighting from the cab when his phone rang.
It was another murder case. This time a young woman named Alexis Thompson was murdered in cold blood as it rained. She was a telecommunication sales personnel who was returning from her office when the incident happened. There were no suspects yet and his attention was required immediately.

The rain hammered down on the streets of Lisboa, casting a gloomy shadow on the city's amber lights, mourning what has now become of the once peaceful Town.

At the scene of the crime, the victim lay sprawled out on the tarmac, it appears that she was strangled by yet to be identified assailants. Her rosy pink dress now stained by a crimson blue.

There was a scuffle no doubt and Detective Justin tried to understand the motive behind the crime. Did she fall out with anyone, either in her work place or was it a relationship issue? He was set to unravel the mystery behind the murder of this beautiful lady, right under the amber lights of the bustling City.

He was determined to fight this trend by finding the culprits and bringing them to book.
