No Time For Games of the Heart

The hours slip by, my youth will fade too soon
No more will I chase fleeting love's allure
Waste feeling where there is no bloom or bloom
Nor let affection's doubts my spirit slur
This heart deserves to know love's solace sweet
Not languish in inconstancy's bitter drouth
His fickle ways have taught this simple feat
True care comes when pledged with honor's truth
So let shadow-men seek pleasures of the night
And leave this lady be the mistress of her choice
No longer prey to appetite's weak light
But lady of her own serene, strong voice
No more shall sadness cloud my waking days
I'll love but on mine own promising ways
