Void Immortal: Master of all

Among the myriad clans that dotted the earth, Lord Rhaegal's Void Clan reigned supreme in prosperity, owed entirely to his mastery of the mystic arts. His talent radiated so brilliantly that he stood on the cusp of Sagehood, an achievement unparalleled in the annals of human cultivation history.

The momentous day of Lord Rhaegal's ascension drew the five major clans to the hallowed grounds of the Daryean Mountains, the sacred domain of the Void Clan. While the War Gods of the other four clans languished at the middle stage of their cultivation, Lord Rhaegal soared as a Peak War God, poised to transcend into the realm of sages.

The proceedings commenced with a rare gathering, where clans mingled in a convivial atmosphere—a rarity indeed.

"Lord Rhaegal, your invitation to this unprecedented event is deeply appreciated," remarked Lord Taishen, leader of the Soul Refining Clan.

"Nonsense," Lord Rhaegal replied with cheer, "You honor us with your presence on this momentous occasion."

In due time, the head of the Scorching Frost clan joined the assembly.

"Selene, it's been centuries," Lord Rhaegal greeted, clasping hands with the leader of the Scorching Frost Clan. "I heard you've been in seclusion. I'm glad you could join us."

"Anything for an old friend," Lord Selene replied.

"I eagerly anticipate the enlightenment your ascension promises," remarked Lord Magnus, War God of the Celestial Clan.

"And I intend to deliver," Lord Rhaegal assured with a grin.

"Though I must admit, I didn't expect to see him here," Lord Selene remarked, casting a glance toward a rugged figure standing apart—the imposing Lord Grendel, War God of the Divine Beast Clan.

"On this auspicious day, all are welcome in my home," Lord Rhaegal declared, rising from his seat atop the pavilion. "If you'll excuse me, the moment we've awaited is upon us."

“My honored guests, you have come here from every corner of the globe to witness the next step in human transcendence from mere men to true immortals and I am most grateful for the opportunity to be the one to take us to there,” Lord Rhaegal said as a strikingly beautiful woman draped in the finest linens approached from one of the corridors behind the pavilion followed by two young men and a woman.

"Allow me to introduce Queen Idrissa, my wife and leader of the Spirit Willow Clan," Lord Rhaegal continued, acknowledging her presence beside him. "Her guidance has been indispensable on my journey, and I am honored to face the tribulations ahead with her by my side."

“Father,”said the younglings who stood behind Queen Idrissa as they bowed their heads in reverence to the great man who stood before them.

As anticipation rippled through the gathered crowd, Lord Rhaegal ascended, defying gravity's hold as he levitated into the heavens, where a tumultuous storm brewed. The crowd below held their breath as the fateful moment approached.

The first tribulation manifested as a powerful lightning storm that sought to utterly disintegrate the Peak War God. However, he was able to withstand the successive lightning, weathering the storm with unwavering resolve. With that, he had beaten the first tribulation as the crowd below cheered him on.

The second challenge descended swiftly—a rupture in the heavens unleashing a malevolent aura, quelling all save for the mighty War Gods the four clans. From within the breach emerged a legion of monstrous beasts, intent on annihilation. Undeterred, Lord Rhaegal met their onslaught head-on.

With a swipe of his finger, he tore a hole in space, opening a pocket dimension from which he drew out an Obsidian sword that seemed to be possessed by a powerful killing aura.

Wasting no time at all, Lord Rhaegal swung his great sword at the rampaging beasts cutting them down by the dozens. His sword seemed to have the ability to extend its killing edge far beyond the length of the sword itself and this allowed the lord to slay many of the beasts with each strike.

But even with this advantage, the beast horde remained relentless, even managing to inflict wounds upon the indomitable lord. In a sudden flash of mystical prowess, Lord Rhaegal teleported away from the encroaching beasts, affording himself precious moments to weave the intricate incantations required for summoning the void dragon.

As the relentless horde surged forward once more, a massive portal unfurled above the lord, unleashing the mighty form of a dragon with eyes ablaze in purple flames. The divine beast coiled around Lord Rhaegal and unleashed a deafening roar, its reverberations shaking the very foundations of the mountain.

With a surge of power, the dragon let loose a devastating beam from its mouth, a force so potent it seemed to erase matter itself from existence. The onslaught decimated the beastly horde that had once threatened Lord Rhaegal’s life, leaving nothing but a purple mist in its wake.

With this, the lord had vanquished the second tribulation and now stood on the brink of his prophesied ascent to ultimate power. Yet, before he could savor the moment, the third trial unfolded—a colossal flaming palm descended from the heavens with the fury of a celestial calamity.

As Lord Rhaegal braced to withstand the sheer destructive force of the heavenly disaster, his focus was shattered by a chorus of screams echoing from below, a cacophony that pierced his very soul.

As he turned to confront the source of the harrowing screams, dread coiled around Lord Rhaegal like a suffocating shroud. Before his disbelieving eyes, his cherished sons and daughter fell, their lives extinguished by the treacherous hands of his own disciples. The betrayal struck him with a savage intensity, threatening to unravel his very sanity.

Before he could grapple with the enormity of the betrayal, the great palm had dealt him a devastating blow with the force of an avalanche, sending the War God hurtling down the rugged mountainside, his consciousness slipping from his grasp like an elusive mist.

In the haze, a whirlwind of questions tormented his fractured mind. Why had his disciples turned against him? What fate befell his beloved wife, Queen Idrissa? And had he, in his moment of despair, faltered in the ultimate trial of ascension?

Before he could reach any conclusive thoughts, his body collided with the ground so hard it carved a crater several feet deep and knocked him unconscious.
