Buenos Aires is a city brimming with entertainment options. There is something for everyone, from museums that tell stories or express ideas through art to shows that paint a picture of Argentina's identity. There are venues that represent a culture, such as Barrio Chino, and open spaces where you can enjoy the natural environment, among other entertainment options. Cinemas, stands, nightclubs, and many more are part of Buenos Aires' recreation scene, but going to an entertainment venue where you pay to be locked in a room and must escape by solving puzzles is an interesting idea to me. Friends, this is my second experience in escape rooms to show that I like challenges and that the time factor is not friendly to mental agility during the task.
Ahora, en esta nueva situación, visitamos a Malasia, ubicada en Recoleta. Esta vez éramos 4 compañeros que seleccionamos el tema de terror o fantasmal llamado La Maldición de Amityville, basado en hechos reales. Queríamos experimentar emociones intensas. Esta vez, yo estaba consciente de dos cosas: una, mi amiga iba a pedir pista constante; y dos, el factor, miedo afectaría al grupo, así que, nuevamente, no paré de reír. La entrada de Malasia no intimda, todo lo contrario es divertido, te recibe un esqueleto y un zumbie. Además las paredes tienen la información de los temas y las reglas.

In Buenos Aires, there are different places that offer escape room themes. My first opportunity was with two friends; we had to escape from a room where a psychiatric hospital operated. I swear I couldn't stop laughing because of my friend's reaction and her screams. Her behavior affected the outcome because I couldn't concentrate; besides, you're allowed to ask for hints, and my friend had that wild card at her disposal. In the end, we had a good time, and we almost managed to finish on time; we were unsure whether we would emerge victorious.
Now, in this new situation, we visited Malaysia, located in Recoleta. This time there were four of us who chose the horror or ghost theme called The Curse of Amityville, based on real events. We wanted to experience intense emotions. This time, I was aware of two things: one, my friend was going to ask for constant clues, and two, the fear factor would affect the group, so, again, I couldn't stop laughing. The entrance to Malaysia is not intimidating; on the contrary, it's fun. You are greeted by a skeleton and a zombie. In addition, the walls have information about the themes and rules.
Iniciamos la aventura, existían falsas pistas que nos desconcentraban para enfocarnos en elementos innecesarios. Hasta que, por fin, logré resolver el primer enigma. No había pasado mucho, cuando mi amiga solicitó pista y al mismo tiempo las luces se apagan, reacción inminente: gritos, risas y aglomeración. El equipo demostró el talento en ocasiones al ignorar ruidos y pistas falsas. Este cuarto no fue mi favorito, no me generó miedo, había retos complejos para poca luz, pero sí me gustó la decoración lúgubre, antigua, terrorífica y acertijos originales.

The hostess at Escape Room Malaysia gave us instructions, i.e., the rules of the game and what we should not do: for example, not touching anything marked as off-limits. We had to solve the problem in 60 minutes; we could use the mini radio to ask for help when we didn't understand a puzzle, and we could use the flashlight. Before entering, our belongings were stored in a trunk so we could enter the room, as photography is prohibited.
We began the adventure. There were false clues that distracted us, making us focus on unnecessary elements. Until, finally, I managed to solve the first puzzle. Not long after, my friend asked for a clue, and at the same time, the lights went out, triggering an immediate reaction: screams, laughter, and crowding. The team demonstrated their talent at times by ignoring noises and false clues. This room was not my favorite; it did not scare me, and there were complex challenges in low light, but I did like the gloomy, ancient, terrifying decor and original puzzles.
¿Amigo de Hive, te atreves a participar en una experiencia de encierro para escapar en 60 minutos? Después de la descripción, supongo que a algunos no, estar encerrado no es el agrado de muchos porque les recuerda experiencias pasadas o películas parecidas. No obstante, si eres como yo, realmente la actividad de escapar de la sala les va a gustar y más cuando participas con un grupo de amigos que comparten el mismo interés de jugar y original para divertirse.

I know there are other places in Buenos Aires to have fun, and there is a wide range of creativity to attract the public. This type of entertainment is expensive; however, the escape room challenges you to think by looking for clues that you must piece together to move forward, and the support of your partner helps you solve the challenge. For example, there was a sentence that said, Look for the board; you just had to check under the bed. The game provokes suggestion; I had to assume without fear that there was nothing. Until I thought to look under the mattress, and there was the board with the code. In the escape game, the goal is to get out in time, or you are “trapped for life.” The strategies, depending on the theme, in this case, darkness, noises, riddles, smoke, and other stimuli, interfere with finding the immediate solution, a situation that influenced us and prevented us from finishing the adventure. In other words, there are people who like this kind of adrenaline rush; they are aware that they can control it, while others go and suffer, putting the participants at risk.
Hive friend, do you dare to participate in an escape room experience to escape in 60 minutes? After reading the description, I guess some of you won't, as being locked up is not to everyone's liking because it reminds them of past experiences or similar movies. However, if you're like me, you'll really enjoy the activity of escaping the room, especially when you participate with a group of friends who share the same logical and original interest in having fun.

Estuve en varias de ellas durante mi estadía de ocho meses en Buenos Aires.
Algunas fueron bien retadoras (en una de ellas salimos a un par de minutos de terminar el tiempo), pero la mayoría fueron sencillas de superar (por supuesto, teníamos acompañantes avispados)
Con todo, nos reímos mucho allá.

Siempre he querido entrar a una pero no consigo con quien! De hecho, quería regalarle la experiencia a mi hijo mayor para el cumpleaños de este año y no pude, espero que para el próximo que cumplirá los 18 si logre hacerlo, para que lo pase con sus amigos.

Nunca fui a estos espacios, pero me parecen una genial idea para compartir con amigos… En mi caso, al saber que nada me pasará, creo que lo disfrutaré. Distinto sería que exista un real peligro. ¿Existe?

Es una idea genial 😁 Esa es la actitud, sabes que no es real y te vas a divertir.
Hay peligro cuando la persona no puede gestionar las emociones y la respuesta es agresiva como medio de defensa. Los chicos de Malasia nos informaron por ello han tenido que fijar los objetos y asustar menos.
Me suena como una propuesta interesante pero soy muy asustadiza (yo sería la amiga que grita y pide que paren todo), quizá la experiencia de terror no sea lo mío, sin embargo si me gustan los juegos de acertijos.

La combinación de ideas es entretenida y si sabes que es un juego, no deberías teene miedo, pero también entiende que hay personas que la imaginación está por encima de la realidad.
