Justo cuando está por conmemorarse un año más del recordatorio de la Guerra de las Malvinas, quiero compartirles este descubrimiento que hice en días pasados, y que si bien no se relaciona directamente con este hecho, si lo hace con el tema bélico, y es la Fragata Presidente Sarmiento que podemos encontrar justo al lado del emblemático Puente de la Mujer, ubicado en la zona de Puerto Madero de la ciudad de Buenos Aires.
El día de mi visita era realmente al puente, pero al ver semejante estructura difícilmente podía dejarla pasar por alto, y aunque no estaba abierta al público, pude conocer parte de lo que se ubica en su interior a través de los letreros informativos ubicados en el puerto.
Para Sarmiento, la educación era el pilar fundamental par la construcción de la sociedad, por lo que esta fragata se hizo con tal finalidad: que los jóvenes aprendieran de otras naciones y trajeran sus experiencias para compartir y nutrir a otros jóvenes.
En total hizo 37 viajes entre los años 1899 y 1938, y ya luego en 1962 fue convertida en un museo para el turismo y la enseñanza (sin zarpar) de las nuevas generaciones.
Justo al frente, un par de cañones apostados en las áreas donde fueron colocados locales de comidas y bebidas, le dan un carácter poderoso y a la vez, histórico, que nos remonta a las épocas de la independencia y la lucha por las libertades obtenidas a lo largo del tiempo.
Con la fragata, se completa un cuadro perfecto entre lo antiguo y lo moderno, que nos hace un guiño a la frase que reza que toda la historia es cíclica.

Just as we are about to commemorate another year of the Falklands War reminder, I want to share this discovery I made in the past few days, which, while not directly related to this event, does relate to the military theme. It is the Frigate President Sarmiento that we can find right next to the iconic Puente de la Mujer, located in the Puerto Madero area of the city of Buenos Aires.
On the day of my visit, I was actually heading to the bridge, but when I saw such a striking structure, I could hardly overlook it. Even though it was not open to the public, I was able to learn about part of what is inside through informative signs at the port.
For Sarmiento, education was the fundamental pillar for the construction of society, so this frigate was made for that purpose: for young people to learn from other nations and bring their experiences to share and nourish other young people.
In total, it made 37 trips between 1899 and 1938, and then in 1962, it was converted into a museum for tourism and education (without setting sail) for the new generations.
Just in front, a pair of cannons placed in the areas where food and beverage outlets were installed, give it a powerful and at the same time, historical character that takes us back to the times of independence and the struggle for the freedoms obtained over time.
With the frigate, a perfect balance between the ancient and the modern is achieved, which winks at us with the phrase that all history is cyclical.

Me encanta esa Fragata, creo que la visite mas veces que otra cosa jaja ¿esta cerrada? Que pena, es muy hermosa en su interior, quiza le esten haciendo refacciones. Cuando reabra deberias visitarla, no te arrepentiras, recuerdo que estaba super barata la entrada ❤️ ahora no se, pero el año pasado estaba accesible jaja
