Early summer. Rainy mornings and afternoon showers. Mist rising from the valleys. Temperatures already soaring.

Was it when I opened the door to accept that delivery? Or when my kids played hide and seek on the balcony? Or maybe when my wife called down to me from the bedroom window? It only takes a second …

How happy I am to be reading your work again!
This one had me swatting the air!

Thank you for popping in!
I think AI was modeled after you and your automatic poem generator brain. ;-)
I have some good watermelon filled stories from previous summers, but something tells me most of their humor would probably get lost by writing them down.
One of them was inspired by Shimura Ken, a Japanese comedian.
Black and white photos are artful and allow us to paint the colors.
I am happy to follow for more poetry and stories about Japan.
Thank you.
oh my! loved your haikus!
i loved that bone dry and watermelon ones, it really tells you how dry and hot it must be
Thank you for reading and commenting. Yes, it’s quite hot. Not as hot as it could be, but hot enough. Especially, in the afternoon.
First photo! 👀It reminds me of the hot and humid summer on the Sea of Japan coast. I was shocked because I thought Niigata was cooler.
I had thought I had not seen you post for a while. I know you are busy, but please take care of yourself🙂
Yes, it can be a hot place, especially this time of year.
Thank you for your concern. We had some big changes and unfortunate happenings over the past half a year, so it’s been hard to set aside time for things like Hive. I always find my way back though. ;-)
Greetings @boxcarblue ,
Lovely to hear from you again.
What beautiful, rich, sensory art work....Thank you for posting at Hive.
Kindest Regards,
Bleujay
Thank you @bluejay. It feels good to make a post again. Falling out of a habit is so easy, but getting back into one can take time. I’ve been sitting on this post and meaning to share it for a while.
