The places I've been on my path as a student of hope with no wish to stop,
motivated to push it through, determined to make it all the way,
got me convinced I had to find out the limits
and the answers to all that I was afraid to ask.
Somehow, somewhere along the way I vanquished the guilt:
no substitute relations, no meaningless conversations
or dialogues played in reverse, no more braided lies cause
I've lived old enough to read between the lines,
to recognize you never show your real thoughts.
Too many times I picked you up when you were down;
you weren't there for me, you walked all over me!
I draw the line! It's time to put my boots on keeping them on for a while
cause from now on there's little hope to mend my heart and soul;
adding sugar after salt won't take away the hurt!
When you're face to face with the confessions of your demons,
redemption and forgiveness seem unreachable dreams, far way,
you can play and change the story, erase the blurry lines, draw again;
forget the past and all its songs cause being sorry and wrong
doesn't make it better, doesn't change a thing. Rewrite the story!
