Five Tiny Poems

I cleaned off my desk yesterday. There were quite a few old to-do sheets that had been piling up for a few weeks, one sheet per day. I looked the sheets over for any important notes that I may have scrawled on them, and found a few tiny poems. This post is a collection both of poems that I left on other Hive posts as comments, and of a few tiny poems that very nearly ended up in the trash. One of those was written while I listened to the leader of the supposedly free world speak. Can you tell which one?

freethinking matters.
all else is fluffernutter
spread on real thick

sylphs of yourself
hover nearby.
my heart jumps for joy

I cannot butter
my bread with
rhetoric

text15.png

my thumbs look the same
but one fits more snugly
in its glove

satan’s prayers
are expressed
in man’s laws

The image is by Kathee Sive, a dear friend of mine, and is of me and my beloved pooch Hazel on one of our favorite walks.

Thank you for reading my work! I love and appreciate you all!

Sort:

The first and third fit so we'll together.
I love how much you capture in each one.
I feel inspired to try write one.
Love that photo of you and Hazel

Please do write haiku! It's much more difficult that it seems, but well worth the effort.

The photo is one of my favorites. She really got the magic of the place down in those sparkles around me.

Ditto that!
I've been tending to a dog who was bitten by the neighbor's evil terrorist dog, and it's a long and awful story. Instead of an apology from the human (who now has FIVE RESCUE DOGS despite the first two flunking obedience since 2019 and 2020) .... I got.... #gaslighted. Our dog is still wearing the cone of shame - it's been since Feb. 2 - and now his bitten elbow is swollen like a cow's udder with hygroma and he may never be the same again and I am too disgruntled to write about it. Meanwhile we have had all three grandchildren since Monday night. Tomorrow morning they will leave. Ages 7, 6, and 4, and very very vocal and active.
But I love the poems and the photo of you and Hazel!
May your world be filled with peace and light!

Thank you!

I wanna say the first or third one! Between you and me, though, I don't think Biden is the leader of his own closet, let alone the world. Lovely picture of you <3 I like the one about the thumbs best!

oh I love that one about the gloves! I figured no one else would. Thanks for that pick.

And ding ding ding ding! #3 it is.

"satan’s prayers

Wow.....SO much said, in so few words.

We are told what Satan would like us to do via our laws. I'm moving toward anarchy as a solution to the world's ills. We make our own laws, seven billion governments.

Inspiring stuff here. I love the idea of having a slyph double floating about nearby, and the thumb observation is fantastic.

I thought of you when I wrote thumbs. It reminds me of some of your work, and hopefully makes a mind or two spin.

I think the first one looks like one a leader gunning for a free world would say although I like the thumb fitting in a glove one the most.

Yeah, I'm big on freedom, and ridding the world of parasitical governments. Thanks for stopping by!

Me hubiese gustado seguir leyendo cada uno de los poemas. Están muy lindos. Exitos

Thank you!

A pleasing page of petite pithy poems. Satan's Prayers is my favourite.

It's a good one, isn't it? That's one of the ones I found scrawled on a sheet of paper. I'm a bit worried it isn't fully mine! Don't tell...

I will always conceal and never reveal the secrets of the sisterhood.

I like that about you.

😂 I love the thumb one!! 🤣

I'm so surprised at the popularity of that one! I love it too, but I wasn't sure the subtle feelings I tried to get at would come across to others. Thanks for stopping by!

The thumb one captured my spirit. The word "snugly" put a big smile on my face.
Nature, you and Hazel - a Divine Trio

Aw... That's very sweet of you to say.
