Quietly, I sat alone,
staring into an unknown space.
It is here that I have always been
A world where darkness and remorse reigns,
A world full of misery.
I have watched what was dear taken,
I have fought an endless battle,
Yet I manage to live, only to be declared a loser.
The invisible scars remind me of my shame,
It's a shame I know not "how" and "when."
I have longed to be free,
To know the meaning of truth,
To feel how it’s like to be declared a victor.
But a voice keeps saying,
"This is who you'll forever be."
But a day came,
As I sat in my misery.
I looked up to the sky, where all truth lies,
And it hit me like solid rock.
Even after a heavy rain,
With roaring thunder and sharp lightning,
The dark clouds still turn blue,
And the sun still gracefully smiles
It is an experience everyone witnesses but never sees.
I felt the burden in my heart lift,
My eyes shone like the sun.
I felt unfamiliar peace come alive,
An overwhelming strength surrounded me.
I felt ready for anything coming my way.
