Buried Sins
Do you think a shovel covers your sins?
Buried within the earth
Beneath our feet and judging hearts
They won’t remain there, your truths
Not for long, you know this to be true
your sins will turn to seeds when buried deep
They grow and fester and soon emerge
Pretty flowers wrapped as weeds
Slither on cat’s paws binding
Binding your feet
Until its yoo late to run
As your yout soul is
Pulled into the deep.

I loooove this. Really cool imagery, and a satisfying thought to be honest. Does that make me vindictive? Or just happy to see "justice" served. LOL.
Now that I think about it, most of my short stories are about justice being served... 😁
I enjoyed the metaphor of this piece. The imagery of sins growing into weeds was very powerful. Thanks for sharing.
