En esta ocasión queremos compartir con toda la comunidad que hemos comenzado formalmente una nueva etapa en nuestra iniciativa de difundir Hive en las universidades de la región. En esta nueva fase nos genera tanto emoción como un superlativo compromiso el mencionar que hemos llegado a la UNEXPO o como es conocida en la ciudad “El Poli” cuyo nombre completo lo mencionamos en el título de esta publicación.
Hace un par de semanas hemos tenido una conferencia con estudiantes de una sección de primer semestre de varias carreras técnicas en uno de los auditorios de la universidad. Aunque oficialmente no es nuestra primera actividad en la institución. Hace unos meses patrocinamos una actividad deportiva, para ser específicos se trató de un torneo de fútbol de salón con equipos conformados netamente de estudiantes de esta universidad.
También tuvimos un par de conferencias piloto hace unos meses. A pesar de contar con experiencia en el entorno académico, las dinámicas de las universidades son distintas, además que la disposición, interés y motivación de los estudiantes no siempre es igual. Lo que nos dejó interesantes lecciones sobre la dinámica universitaria.
Dicho esto, y volviendo sobre el asunto que nos convoca, queremos también notificar que además de la conferencia que hemos tenido, tenemos agendadas otras varias con diferentes secciones. Ahora bien, también hemos tenido un par de reuniones con varios profesores, por un lado el encargado del departamento de estudios básicos y el encargado de la dirección de cultura de la universidad.
Con ambos docentes hemos tenido charlas fructíferas y con quienes ya estamos coordinando los siguientes pasos en esta labor de llevar Hive a la institución, de hecho, hasta han puesto sobre la mesa la posibilidad de pintar un mural de Hive en una de las paredes del edificio de estudios generales pues es el edificio más cercano al edificio central de la universidad.
También el profesor Alejandro Aguilar, quien ha sido nuestro aliado en las jornadas de “Builiding Day” puesto que se centran en el desarrollo en Hive, recientemente como profesor de esta institución ha recaído la responsabilidad de re-acondicionar uno de los laboratorios de computación, por ello en este espacio será donde se llevarán a cabo los próximos “Building day”.
En los próximos días estaremos compartiendo más sobre nuestras actividades y planificación en la tarea de empoderar a los estudiantes en el nuevo horizonte del internet por medio de Hive.

Hive at the National Experimental Polytechnic University “Antonio José de Sucre”
On this occasion, we would like to share with the entire community that we have formally begun a new stage in our initiative to spread Hive throughout the region's universities. In this new phase, we are both excited and deeply committed to mentioning that we have arrived at UNEXPO, or as it is known in the city, “El Poli,” whose full name we mention in the title of this publication.
A couple of weeks ago, we held a conference with first-semester students from various technical degree programs in one of the university's auditoriums. However, this is not officially our first activity at the institution. A few months ago, we sponsored a sporting event, specifically an indoor soccer tournament with teams made up entirely of students from this university.
We also held a couple of pilot conferences a few months ago. Despite our experience in the academic environment, the dynamics of universities are different, and the willingness, interest, and motivation of students are not always the same. This taught us some interesting lessons about university dynamics.
That said, and returning to the matter at hand, we would also like to announce that, in addition to the conference we have held, we have scheduled several others with different sections. We have also had a couple of meetings with various professors, including the head of the basic studies department and the head of the university's culture department.
We have had fruitful discussions with both teachers and are already coordinating the next steps in bringing Hive to the institution. In fact, they have even raised the possibility of painting a Hive mural on one of the walls of the general studies building, as it is the closest building to the university's main building.
Professor Alejandro Aguilar, who has been our ally in the “Building Day” workshops since they focus on development in Hive, has recently been given the responsibility of refurbishing one of the computer labs as a professor at this institution. This space will be where the next “Building Days” will take place.
In the coming days, we will be sharing more about our activities and plans to empower students in the new frontier of the internet through Hive.
