More Than Just Jordans: A Sweet Return to Manila

Greetings, Hive Family, most especially to the @bayanihive Community!

This morning started with a call that instantly lifted my mood. My boyfriend asked if I was free to go out. As a freelancer, I have the flexibility to shift my schedule, so I said yes without hesitation. He wanted to visit Robinson's Place Manila in Ermita, a mall we used to frequent back when I was still living in the city.

The reason? Jordan shoes! He's been eyeing two pairs online and wanted to see them in person to compare the quality, design, and feel before making a purchase next month (hopefully with a price drop!). I love that he’s thoughtful about his choices, and I love even more that he wanted me there with him.

Beyond the sneaker hunt, this trip was meaningful. My boyfriend has always been one of my emotional anchors, and spending time with him, especially revisiting familiar places, feels grounding. We chose to go all the way to Manila instead of finding a mall here in Bulacan because we also planned to visit his siblings who live nearby. It turned into a mini reunion and a refreshing break from our usual routines.

Moments like these remind me that it's not always about grand gestures. Sometimes, a simple mall visit, a shared decision, and a few laughs over shoe styles are enough to make a day feel special. I'm thankful for the freedom my work gives me, and even more thankful for the people who make life feel lighter.
