Open Source Fully Customized Camera

This is the first post in a series for my next camera build. I haven't seen a build even close to the one I want to do yet. I'm building a fully mobile, open source high quality digital camera. The goal is that it is as open as possible and relatively inexpensive. I'll be posting this series walking through each of the build and software steps. It should keep me moving the project forward as well. Please reply with comments or improvements you would like to see with the series. I'd like to eventually get some videos going but D.tube has been difficult to get started.

Features:

  • Large high quality sensor
  • Rechargeable batteries
  • As open as possible (Software and Hardware)
  • Software that can be changed as needed
