Do you use Google Drive ?

Now when we are moving into the digital world and this also asked for the requirement of cloud storage because this is needed to keep our data and documentation online. There are so many platforms offering cloud storage but Google is quite popular because you talk for 15 GB of free storage by default to all users. Although this is a combined experience between email photos and Google Drive for normal users, it can last for a couple of years.

Recently Google has made some changes to its photo application and now I need back up will be counted against your story so this 15 GB of storage will be used even for photo upload in standards size. Surely this is one of the steps that the company has taken to get more paid subscriptions off the Google one and this way they are trying to generate more revenue rather than offering free to their users. Still, I believe that Google is the only company that offers quite a good amount of stories for free however I am not aware of any other name that can offer 15 GB of stories for free including email etcetera.

The company offers all users 15 GB of free storage on Google Drive. Google recently changed its free storage policy earlier this year. What this means is that any new photos and videos you back up will count toward the free 15GB of storage that comes with every Google account. If you have exhausted your 15 GB free storage, you can purchase additional storage to continue backing up content on Google Drive. In India, users can choose from monthly and yearly plans. Google offers 100 GB storage space for Rs 130 per month

I checked my account storage and realized that I am also heading toward the end of free storage however I have 17 GB instead of 15 GB but its also 77% used. Then I clicked on manage storage to see what is there that consumes this storage.

Here I can see that I have an almost equal amount of data in drive, Gmail, and photos that count toward my free storage of 17 GB.

I have 17GB instead of 15 GB because I got 2GB extra for security check activity and it is a promo event by Google. If it was then 15 then I am left with 1.75 GB only and good that I have an additional 2 GB that is helping me now.

I have stopped uploading unnecessary data for now because if I do then I would have to go for the paid plan and minimum I need to pay INR 1300 for a year. This is not so expensive as compared to iCloud and for this amount, I get 100GB of space which I think is more than enough for me.

I will try to use my google account normally and once I am left with less than 1 GB then I will go for one year plan and will pay INR 1300 which is almost 20 USD

No. Because I use the best trade-free cloud at https://files.trom.tf highly recommended.

This could be good cloud storage but google is handy and it comes with google so more people use it. The one you are recommending could be good as well. thanks for sharing about it

I'm always using Google Drive. And since I'm a mother my phone gets full of pictures of my son and Google always remembers me to clean it up while saving all the photos lol not to mention photos I take for the Actifit Reports 😋
I had to get the next upgrade because of a lack of space. Well I still have a few GB's from the free 15GB but I do lots of videos from my phone and having extra storage outside my pc is very handy.
Another thing I use from Google Drive is creating documents like in Word and Excel. Why buy M Office if you have it for free online? And it's so useful to be able to grab a document, a picture or a video from anywhere besides my pc and phone!
For me, is worth paying and eventually get the next upgrade in the future if necessary.
Thank you for sharing!

Hi @elianaicgomes
I like the way you are using Google services and eys its easy to use and also make many things easy for us.
I also use it in similar ways that you have mentioned and the only thing that I need to keep a close eye on the free space. Like you said that its worth paying so I will go with a paid plan once I am left with 1GB space to make more space for me. Thanks.

I was not aware Google made these changes to their application. Thank you for sharing.

Glad that you find it useful. Thank you so much

Hi, @alokkumar121 I am a Google Drive user for several reasons. One of them is that I synchronize my students' assignments and they are stored there, so far I have not had any problems. As you rightly mention, you have to take care of the storage, at the beginning we see many gigabytes, but as time goes by we are consuming them. Of course, there are other alternatives to look at.

Hello @alfonsoalfonsi
I hope that google drive is helping to make this easy for you as well as for your students. My experience has also been good so far but nowadays space is one of the concerns as I am reaching close to it and hope its the same many people out there.

I'll have to look into this.

The last time I checked out the Photo thing on Drive, there wasn't a fast way for me to transfer all my photos that were already there in other Drive apps to there.

There is no faster way to transfer to google drive but if you download the app on pc then it can sync automatically and won't have to wait.

I’ll have to play with it.

yes, google is developing many things daily. Indeed google drive is the best option to store data.

I have 50 % storage left last time I checked that 😀out of 15 GB.

there is no alternative in this rate indeed.
