Google founded in the year 1998 by Larry page and sergey brin , is the most commonly used search engine in the world , where anyone can search for any information on the internet. It connects users to other webpages and contents that they need in split seconds.

From the beginning of humanity , mankind have always being curious to get answers , to get information , to know why an event happened, how it happened , when it happened and so on . People used scrolls , clay tablets , cave walls , local libraries , books and so on .

Good information relating to individual needs was very uneasy to access . Also , If you didn't have access to those sources of information , you just might never get the answers to your questions .

Which brings us to today , still having plethora of questions to ask , information we wish to know , perhaps pilots checking up when tomorrow's rain starts , travellers looking up how to say 'rice' in Yoruba language , athletes finding out a good diet to increase their muscle mass , cooks figuring out how to store fish , home residents looking to make a move and @code-redex making research about google for a write-up to be posted on hive blog . Billions of people asking trillions of questions from different geographical locations and languages, expecting to get an answer in less than a second.

nobody else can take up this task except Google .

The mission of Google is to :
"Organize the world's information to make it universally accessible and useful"
Let me break this down briefly :

image.png

  • "Organize" : There are millions of websites and content on the world wide web , google filters through this information following SEO(Search engine optimization) ranking rules . Hence bringing you relevant , authentic and trustworthy information related to the search you have made . Taking spam , negative or irrelevant information far away from users .

image.png

  • "The world information" : You probably think information is just text or webpages . Rather , Google also gathers many complex informations such as maps , images , videos , audio , scanned books , accounts and much more .

  • "Universally" : irregardless of your location , age , gender , culture and lifestyle . Be it a blind person , a deaf person , people speaking different languages , Google is for everyone .

  • "Accessible" : You don't need to take a 30 minute bus to a library ,check a lot of cabinets , wait for the radio program , before you can access information . It has never been easier to get information , just a few clicks on your smartphone or computer , you get information in split seconds.

  • "useful" : Google provide users with authentic information that other people worldwide have taken their time to create , to accomplish tasks , learn skills and many other purposes .

Information keeps getting quality and easier to access the more google strives to complete this mission .

Informative post bro👍

Thanks alot boss

This is fantastic. I've used Google more than most people I know, and it's easy to take it for granted. This post reminds me to stop, breathe, and appreciate the incredible value and abundance Google provides.

I don't think the search engine is perfect, and there is room for newcomers such as DuckDuckGo, but overall, Google has truly contributed huge progress and assistance to humanity.

Thank you for an interesting perspective on this commonly used tool. 🙏
