Question based on spring elements

" " \" \" \\"q&a.png\\"\"\""" Question: In the figure given below we have a system of spring elements. We need to find the equivalent spring constant of this system?

 " " \"Screenshot 2022-05-10 094807.png\"""

Solution: Lets start solving this problem

  • First find the equivalent of springs k1 and k3 (both are in parallel). Therefore the equivalent spring will be 2k1 and 2k3.
  • Then find the equivalent of 2k1, 2k3 and k2 (they are in series). Lets say equivalent is keq.
  • Now k4 and keq are in parallel, means they will get added and after that their equivalent is in series with spring k5.

I am also providing my solution below " "answer.png"" Thanks
