We were away for a night in a hotel last week, so when we picked up our boys on Sunday afternoon, we wanted to do something with them. I was chatting to my sister, and she was planning to go on a hike with her crew, so we decided to join them. She told me that our three year old might struggle to complete the hike as it was pretty steep towards the end and was a long way for a three year old.

To be fair to our little man, he did great and managed to get all the way to the top, but the energy stores were almost depleted from the ascent, so yours truely had to carry him back to the car afterwards and suffice to say, the arms were hanging off me by the time we got back down. It was well worth it though, as the boys had great fun catching up with their cousins and got some great exercise for their bodies and fresh air for their minds.

Check out some of the views we were treated to along the way:

It was a great idea to build these nature tracks as part of development and I for one am a big advocate for wind energy and any other renewable energy that helps limit fossil fuel comsumption. The other option is nuclear, which I am vehemently against here in Ireland. Anything that creates a potential ticking time bomb for future generations is short sighted and irresponsible in my opinion. By harnessing the wind, we can help to make our planet sustainable. It's not the whole story, but it's certainly a part of it. Now let me share some more photos I took.

The windmills are only visible off in the distance on this particular trail and it was quite cloudy, so they were difficult to makr out well in a photo but I did try.

Pile of rocks

This pile of rocks is at the top of the hike and most people who hike up, add a stone or a pebble to it which is a pretty fun idea. I've just ran the maths and if people keep adding stones at this rate, I calculate that by the year 2789, this mountain won't be any taller 😉

That's it from me. Thanks for stopping by

beautiful photographs of the place I regret that your son could not use himself to enjoy the walk

Thanks for uour comment, to be fair he walked all the way up which was quite the feat!! Carrying him back down was no fun though! 🤣

Now I'm curious - why would the mountain not be taller with the continual adding of stones? Well done to the little one for making it to the top.

Ha ha ha!! I was being funny, or at least trying to be funny! 😊😊

Great post, am really proud of your three year old, that was able to complete the hike.

Thanks a million. Ya we were shocked that he made it all the way! We figured he'd get 2/3 of the way as he is very energetic, but the end is steep so it was really impressive by the little man.

Yeah I was impressed.

beautiful pictures! :)

Thanks, I'm glad you liked them 😊
