I wonder why so much energy and time went into making the cathedral?
There is so much labor put into the design. They sure don't make buildings now like they use to.
Maybe they were trying to out do another building.

It is one heck on an impressive building - a huge amount of effort and money must have gone into it - certainly trying to impress someone. In anycase, they have built an international landmark that will keep attracting tourists and the like for as long as its there - which is quite an impressive thing to leave behind !
