Part two

I posted the other day about one of my favourite art museums that I visited with my sister-in-law back in 2019, it was an amazing experience and I thought I would share some of my favourite artworks and installations that were on display.

The first little installation was this guy... he was very small but wow it was pretty realistic, almost creepy, I was slightly nervous to get too close because it felt like he was going to stand up and walk towards me. I quickly snapped these photos then backed up pretty fast. I am absolutely in love with the talent of this artwork and how incredible it looks, at the same time though, I just kept thinking back to the movie "Night At The Museum" and really half expected it to come to life... you would not catch me in a museum alone at night (lol)

Another exhibit that fascinated me completely was dedicated to space, this flag was made using old money, specifically South African rand and Zimbabwean dollar.

This entire room was covered in those large checkered plastic bags, in looking back over the artists life where they spent most of their life moving around a lot and whenever they moved their belongings were packed in these bags. The interesting figures hanging from the ceiling are made using "cheaper" blankets, the look gave me chills.

Literally the whole room and everything in it was wrapped and covered in these plastic bags, it was actually quite an incredible experience.

On the table (Where the mug also looked like it was wrapped in a little plastic bag almost.) there was a bible open to 1 Corinthians.

I just wanted to sit in this chair...

I cannot explain toy how it sounded walking on these plastic bags and if you are unfamiliar, they are not your usual thin plastic bags, they are quite thick. So walking on it was very fascinating.

Such an awesome room, I just keep wandering how long this installation took the artist to put together. It felt like stepping into their past and walking through their memories of their younger years that were filled up with these large checkered bags and moving homes...

This artwork looks like an average red door but if you look closely, there is a surprise in the key hole...

Pleasure to meet you

This was one of my favourite art installations, I am not 100% sure why but this absolutely fascinated me, what a fun mirror set up.

I hope you all enjoyed seeing an art gallery through my lens and enjoyed some of my favourite artworks... I tried to add a picture of the artists name and description next to the artworks, so if you enjoy them please go show these artists some great love!

And when you get a chance, please pop round and visit Zeitz MOCAA, I shared a ton of photos however we were there for most of the day and there are way more awesome artworks to enjoy!
