Hi everyone, unfortunately lately I haven't been able to make posts regularly but luckily today is one of those rare days that I have some time and so I share with you an easy hike I did in the province of Treviso a couple of weeks ago .
The initial idea was to take a walk in a place I know but then while driving I decided to stop to take some shots at the church of Sant'Eulalia.
It was a good idea because then I noticed a path that would have made me discover an area I didn't know.

Ciao a tutti, purtroppo ultimamente non riesco a fare post con regolarità ma per fortuna oggi è uno di quei rari giorni che ho un po' di tempo e quindi condivido con voi una facile escursione che ho fatto in provincia di Treviso un paio di settimane fa.
L'idea iniziale era fare una camminata in un posto che conosco ma poi mentre guidavo ho deciso di fermarmi per fare qualche scatto alla chiesa di Sant'Eulalia.
E' stata una buona idea perchè poi mi sono accorto di un sentiero che mi avrebbe fatto scoprire una zona che non conoscevo.
After parking the car I headed towards the church which is surrounded by olive trees.

Dopo aver parcheggiato l'auto mi sono diretto verso la chiesa che è circondata da alberi di olivo.
Some olives were ripe...later I saw a lady picking them.

Alcune olive erano mature...più tardi ho vista una signora coglierle.
In front of the church there is a long stairway which gives a lot of importance to the facade of the church.

Di fronte alla chiesa c'è una lunga scalinata che conferisce molta importanza alla facciata della chiesa.
After a few shots I returned to the parking lot to drive towards Cassanego, the place where I had planned to walk. However, as I approached the car, I noticed a path leading into a thicket.
I decided to explore!

Dopo qualche scatto sono tornato al parcheggio per guidare verso Cassanego, il posto dove avevo programmato di camminare. Tuttavia, mentre mi avvicinavo all'auto mi sono accorto di un sentiero che si infilava in un boschetto.
Ho deciso di esplorare!
There were no signs, so I thought it was a path that would cut off after a few meters, but it wasn't.

Non c'erano cartelli, quindi pensavo che si trattasse di un sentiero che si sarebbe interrotto dopo pochi metri, invece non era così.
I arrived in a very nice area with wooden tables and benches and near the lamination tanks and that was not the end of it. The path continued.

Sono arrivato in una zona molto carina con tavoli e panchine di legno e vicino delle vasche di laminazione e non era finita lì. Il sentiero proseguiva.
As I walked I looked at the map on google maps, but it didn't help much, I had to go by intuition.

At one point the path stopped in front of this wall of boulders.
I was on the bed of a water drain.
So I decided to go back about fifty meters and take a narrow path that I noticed just before.

Ad un certo punto il sentiero si è fermato di fronte a questa muro di massi.
Mi trovavo sul letto di uno scolo d'acqua.
Ho deciso quindi di tornare idietro di una cinquantina di metri e prendere uno stretto sentiero che ho notato poco prima.
It was an uphill path that would take me to the level of the countryside.

Era un sentiero in salita che mi avrebbe portato al livello della campagna.

The path continued into the vegetation...very well!

I was walking along the drainage...

Then I continued along a practically deserted paved road.
ITA
Poi ho continuato lungo una strada asfaltata praticamente deserta.
On google maps I had noticed a point of interest: the gherla.
The Gherla is a railway laid in a hurry by the Military Engineers during the First World War.
60 cm wide rails and small locomotives that transported soldiers, animals and materials to the foot of Monte Grappa to then be further transported via cableways to the top of the mountain.

Su google maps avevo notato un punto d'interesse: la gherla.
La Gherla è una ferroviaria posata in fretta e furia dal Genio Militare durante la prima guerra mondiale.
Rotaie larghe 60 cm e piccole locomotive che trasportavano soldati, animati e materiali ai piedi del monte grappa per poi essere ulteriormente trasportati tramite teleferiche verso la cima del monte.
So by pure chance I discovered this stretch of track and its history... really fascinating.

Per puro caso quindi ho scopertoquesto tratto di binario e la sua storia...davvero affasciante.
The sun was setting so I decided to continue, closing the walk with a round trip.

Il sole stava tramontando così ho deciso di proseguire chiudendo la camminata con un giro ad anello.
Here is the bell tower next to the parking lot where I had parked the car!

Ecco spuntare da una cinta muraria il campanile a fianco al parcheggio dove avevo parcheggiato l'auto!
As I was walking I saw this tree...wow amazing; nature always wins, it will take back everything that we humans believe we possess.

Mentre camminavo ho visto questo albero...caspita incredibile; la natura vince sempre, si riprenderà tutto quello che noi umani crediamo di possedere.
A few minutes and I passed in front of this villa that I didn't know.
Too bad it wasn't open to visits...maybe another time.

Pochi minuti e sono passato di fronte a questa villa che non conoscevo.
Peccato che non era aperta alle visite...sarà per un'altra volta.
Continuing beyond the villa I could still see the rails I had seen previously...

Proseguendo oltre la villa riuscivo ancora a scorgere le rotaie che avevo visto precedentemente...
The next stretch of the route was less shaded and developed along where the Gherla railway line was.

Il tratto successivo del percorso era meno ombreggiato e si sviluppava lungo dove c'era la linea ferroviaria Gherla.
Then passing through the old houses of the village was very stimulating.
All stone houses and close together.
There wasn't even a sidewalk.

Passare poi tra le antiche case del paese è stato molto stimolante.
Tutte case in pietra e ravvicinate.
Non c'era nemmeno il marciapiede.
I had reached the church of Sant'Eulalia again and the staircase was perfectly in line with the road.

Ero giunto nuovamente alla chiesa di Sant'Eulalia e la scalinata perfettamente in linea con la strada.
As I approached the church I noticed a small ruin: I had to go and see it...

Mentre mi avvicinavo alla chiesa mi sono accorto di un piccolo rudere: dovevo andare a vederlo...
It was an old house, perhaps it even had a small mill.
The path continued on…

This hike looks great! Full of surprises at every step. I would have also let myself be carried away by the mysterious trail, its great view was worth it. And I also like to see how nature recovers what belongs to it :)
