BOTANICAL GARDEN OF BAGUIO (2).png

Hi Hive people. For this blog, I will share with you my experience on our trip to Baguio City with my family last summer here in the Philippines.
That was my first time visiting the so-called City of Pines and the Summer Capital of the Philippines. We rented an 18-seater van and paid PHP 7,000 as our fare back and forth. It takes a 4-hour ride from Tarlac, our place, to Baguio, our destination. We arrived at 7:00 in the morning and our first stop was at the Lion's Head.

THE LION'S HEAD

Before finally entering Baguio, the first tourist spot destination is a big statue of a lion's head made of big rock, it is along Kennon Road. It becomes a landmark of the place, a big lion's head with its mouth open showing its fangs. There are many tourists here who take pictures and buy some memorabilia.

SECOND DESTINATION

The Botanical Garden is one of the most visited places in Baguio. It is a wide park that offers a fascinating collection of different flowers and plants like cactus and succulents. What I like most about this place is the silence, all you can hear is the sound of birds and fresh air, making it an easier way to reconnect with nature, away from city noise and traffic, perfect for those finding peace of mind. This place is also PWD-friendly because of the ramps strategically placed here. I can't help but be amazed by the beauty of different plants I only found here. Below are some of the photos I took during our visit.

How lovely the cactus, succulents, and flowers are? Well, you can buy some if you want.

THE MANSION

The Mansion is the official summer residence of the Philippine President. You can see a big White House surrounded by wide green grass and trees. They are not allowing anyone to go inside. that's why we only took photos at the gate of the mansion.

MINES VIEW PARK

Mine's View Park is another destination that offers different activities for tourists. There is a view deck here where you can witness the breathtaking views of the Cordillera mountains. You can also have the opportunity to take pictures riding a horse here for a fee, depending on how many shots you want. My father tried it. There is also a group that offers traditional Igorot attire for rent, for a photo opportunity.

Our fourth destination is the Strawberry Farm located in La Trinidad Benguet, a few kilometers away from Baguio city. You can witness here a wide hectare of strawberry farm where tourists can pick on their own. It is a wide plantation of strawberries and other vegetables such as lettuce. The place is surrounded by mountains and houses. There are also vendors here of different strawberry-flavored delicacies such as jams, tarts, and ice cream.

BURNHAM PARK

Burnham Park is a popular recreational area in the City of Baguio. It features a man-made lake where tourists can rent boats. It has also a wide space for biking and different activities such as jogging, walking, and perfect for family picnics.

I enjoyed riding a boat with my family, we rented two boats for about an hour. We also rented bikes with my cousins. It was an unforgettable experience.

Our last destination is Sm City Baguio - Sky Garden. Before going home, we decided to eat our dinner here and witness the beauty of the sunset at the top of the SM Mall. You can feel the cold breeze of air and witness the fascinating beauty of city lights coming from different buildings and houses.

My visit to Baguio City is truly an amazing experience with my Family.
I will definitely go back to this place if given a chance.
