Bogota or Medellin (or somewhere else) as best place to visit in Colombia?

Hey guys, first timer, going to visit Colombia for the first time in about 1 week, just looking for feedback on what part is best to visit, since it is a huge country. Thanks to all who voted or replied on my last question as well.

I wouldnt mind a city that is smaller and more quite too, I dont want to spend all of the time in the city, would love to do some hiking honestly, since it is very scenic.

Also, any areas to avoid please share.
