There's always something...
We come to the Abu Dhabi Cultural Foundation on an almost regular basis since the Children's Library is located here. One thing we love about coming here is that there isn't a boring visit. There's always something new to look forward to.
We were away for almost four months during the summer and we almost missed this colorful summer pop-up. The published dates were from June 15 - August 31, 2023, but when we went there last October, we were still able to pass by the Retro Toons. The digital signage at the first floor noted it's ongoing until January 2024.
It was the first signage we saw as we entered the building and so after registering at the reception, we checked it out first before proceeding to the Children's Library.
Retro Toons is a summer pop-up featuring delightful cartoon characters from the 1920s to the 1930s, brought to life by talented artists.

It is on the same floor as the Library, so we just made a slight detour. No drastic changes in our day, just a random, fun side trip. :D
Colorful Decals
At the start of the exhibit, there was also a fun mirror that casts different reflections -- some stout, tall and long, or round.
The glass walls were adorned with colorful decals of cartoon characters, most of whom I also do not know. LOL. Or maybe I just didn't watch a lot of cartoons because my kids know Oswald. 😅
Well, at least I know Felix! LOL.

Interactive Installations
It's always fun to be at exhibits where you can touch and interact with the installations. Where's the fun when you can't touch these things, right?
Little Man had a great time with this see-saw. Not sure though from which cartoon this scene was made in reference to.
We reached these bouncy balls that the kids tossed back and forth to each other.
We reached this tic-tac-toe board and the kids played a couple of rounds with each other.
Another one where we had fun was this spinning wheel. The kids took turns spinning it hoping to get the pointer to stop at the yellow space!

Make a wish!
I wish... I wish...
Finally, we reached the Make-A-Wish Wall which is at the last part of the pop-up. They wanted to write something but then decided against it.
We just went on and headed to the library for the rest of our Friday afternoon.
