My grandson Tyler went with a few of his friends to Hluhluwe - Imfolozi Game Park in South Africa, and took some amazing pictures of wild life which he then sent to me. It brought back beautiful memories of my visit there a few years back.
I just couldn't resist sharing them with my Hivian friends.
The Hluhluwe-Mfolozi Game Park is located in the Province of KwaZulu Natal on the East Coast of South Africa which is situated between the two Umfolozi rivers, it is well known for it's rich wild life and conservation efforts, and home to the famous "Big Five" which is the Buffalo, Lion, Elephant, Rhino and the Leopard.
No words are amazing enough to describe the feeling one has when one is out there close to these magnificent animals, all senses come alive and the adrenalin starts pumping, it's simply a beautiful experience, reminds me why I love living in Africa.

The Buffalo have a few natural predators, the main ones being Lions, leopards and hyenas; It would take many lions to bring down a buffalo, thus making their calves vulnerable to the predators, being the hyenas and lions.

The elephant is one of my favorite animals and to see them close up in real life, is absolutely magnificent.

Giraffes fascinate me, they have this puzzled expression on their faces; they are such beautiful and graceful animals.
The Park is a prime birding destination and has a great many different species. An absolute haven for bird watches.

The ground hornbill, is one of two species of ground hornbill and can be found in the southern regions of Africa, from Kenya to South Africa.
The malachite kingfisher is a river king fisher and is widely found in Africa south of the Sahara, also east and south Asia as far as Australia and Europe.

The European roller breeds in Europe then migrates to Africa in winter.

The secretary bird lives in the grass lands and shrub lands, and is a bird of prey, you will often see them standing, they can reach four feet tall and only fly when necessary, such as to reach their nest in trees, or when they are in mating season; they also pair for life.
Nothing like a braai and a couple of pints to end the day and chat about the exciting time had by all around a fire.
I need another trip to Hluhluwe - Imfolozi Game Park soon.
Thank you for taking a trip with me to Hluhluwe - Imfolozi Game Park and giving me the opportunity to do so.
