During my short stay in Ciudad Bolivar, I had the opportunity to contemplate from one of its most emblematic viewpoints the majesty of the Orinoco River, a natural symbol of Venezuela and the inspiration for countless songs, myths, and legends.

Throughout millennia, various indigenous cultures have developed around this imposing flow, long before the years of conquest and the current shape of this ancient settlement.

A must-visit in Ciudad Bolivar is the Orinoco promenade, from where you can appreciate part of the grandeur of this river, which is over 2000 kilometers long, and catch a glimpse of the iconic Angostura Bridge that crosses it in the distance.

Moreover, in this same place, it is possible to take a boat to explore some of the nearby small islands, several of which have resorts and other tourist attractions.

This area, near the riverbank, has an architectural peculiarity that reflects the Antillean influence in some of its buildings, a testimony to the extensive commercial activity that this important river port had in previous years.

Currently, it remains a significant economic region, where the main basic industries of the region are developed, highlighting mining, logging, and the oil industry, all of vital importance to the country's economy.

It is said that sometimes it is possible to spot at sunset some toninas, species of river dolphins, which allow their exotic figures to be admired by the eyes of some lucky ones.

It is a spacious area, with sports and children's parks, and walkways, ideal for enjoying the natural beauty and the historical and mystical richness that surrounds the imposing Orinoco River.
