Dhanmondi Lake
Such a beautiful place to sooth my mind with it’s soothing wonderful view. It’s a large park with a lake. The water of lake is clean and pure. It can be considered a great place for outing, boating & playing. There is seen a big crowd at afternoon but still the place stays neat and clean. It’s a great and cozy place for hanging out with friends and family or kids can play. Also it’s a open area so cultural events are hosted oftentimes.
How to go there?
It’s located in Dhanmondi area, it’s inside Dhaka. It’s very far away from my home so I took metro from Uttara and dropped by Mirpur 10. From there I took a local bus which was going on the way of Dhanmondi lake. In Bangladesh I haven’t visited many places but it’s the most beautiful lake I have ever seen.
Entrance
At first glance before entering I saw Albizia lebbeck , such a beautiful view full of yellowish.
I love to look at various types of flowers which is a common thing in Dhanmondi Lake.
Street foods
Different kind of street food shops is seen over here.
I am always hungry when I am outside. The one you are seeing is called Kulfi Malai it is like ice cream they keep it frozen in a small cup and serve it with a stick plugged inside. It’s very tasty and tastes like almond milk.
Another ice cream , I just love ice cream it’s my favourite during hot weather. I was sweating a lot this one is my favourite since childhood. It’s very rare to find it because high classified people won’t have it in Bangladesh. But guess what? They are missing the fun. Anyways, it doesn’t matter to me I will eat anything If it tastes good.
This place is always crowded with people of all the ages.
This is Jhal Muri this one is also too much mouth watering tasty snack. It’s made with puffed rice, spice and many masala ingredients. This local snack is everyone’s favourite.
Boating
I have never tried boating it’s my first time. The boat was themed with a duck beautifully designed.
I have captured this video with slow-mo because I wanted to see the beautiful waves clearly.
The natural environment is enough to keep one’s mind at peace.
A big tree of Barringtonia and flowers didn’t bloom yet. In bangla we call it Hijol.
Otherwise, it looks more beautiful when it’s bloomed.
Beautiful red Caliandra is seen, my friend has urge to steal flowers.
He would just grab some flowers and give them to me he is really sweet.
Dhanmondi Rabindro Sarobar Bridge
Before leaving the lake saw a bridge called Rabindro Sarobar bridge beside the lake. I could see the amazing view of the lake from here.
Clicked some nice photos while crossing the bridge.
We crossed the road and came over toward Rabindro Sarobar and saw a restaurant nearby.
Took rest for a while under a big tree. It was too tiring and hot weather was making me more tired.
Overall it was fun and had enjoyed a lot. It was refreshing for my mind. I would love to travel back here again someday.
